The West Michigan Wildlife Conservancy was founded by Holland native and Air Force officer Alex Miller. Alex has been passionate about local environmental issues his entire life, organizing his first volunteer group to fight invasive species when he was 16. Over the years, Alex realized many of the ecological issues in the area had been allowed to metastasize to near crisis levels, and while home on leave in 2024 he incorporated the West Michigan Wildlife Conservancy. The goal of the organization is to draw greater attention to these problems, and to galvanize support for pragmatic strategies which will ensure that the natural beauty and biodiversity of West Michigan are preserved for generations to come.
